gdit Lambo

How the hell did Lambo become one of my favorite characters? Granted, I'm more fascinated with his fifteen-year-old self than his five-year-old self, but they both kind of go hand-in-hand, BUT STILL.

He's the kind of character I usually, without fail, really hate reading about, because I get so horribly embarrassed in his place. He's egotistical, selfish, loud, incompetent, and pretty much just there to be obnoxious. It makes me bristle on the inside and hide my face in my hands on the outside until the feelings of horror pass.

It doesn't make for a pleasant reading experience.

But he's also so interesting when I stop to think about it. He definitely seems to have some really nasty insecurity issues for all of his posturing (because of his posturing), and when it comes down to it, this kid is basically being raised (or at least is constantly surrounded) by a ragtag bunch of middle school students who are also mafia. And babies. And batshit crazy. And Hibari. IMAGINE THE CHILDHOOD HE HAD/WILL HAVE.

Reborn, for once, I think might actually make things worse. And as much as I love the guy, that makes me happy.

THIS WAS BASICALLY JUST A POST WRITTEN FOR THAT REASON. BUT SINCE A LOT OF YOU GUYS PROBABLY DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT, HERE'S SOMETHING ELSE FOR YOU

Since I haven't done it in awhile.

Pick one of my characters a character you know I write about and I'll answer the following questions about him or her.

1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?
2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
3. What do they dream about?
4. What’s their biggest fear?
5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?
6. What is their fondest memory?
7. What is their worst memory?
8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.
9. What do they believe makes a successful life?
10. What makes them laugh?
11. What are their religious views?
12. What is their greatest strength?
13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?
14. Who is the most important person in their life?
15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

Onslaught?

1/2 THIS GOT KIND OF LONG

[identity profile] therixkeycopy.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?

It would actually be easier and more efficient to say what Onslaught wouldn't kill for. Killing isn't such a big deal to him unless there's a strategic reason not to. He's not kill-crazy, but he's not going to not do it if he finds it beneficial (or he's just that angry, but shhh, the Calm and Composed Tactical Genius that is Onslaught does not lose his temper, what madness are you speaking?)

What Onslaught would die for is a bit trickier. He'd die for Megatron and the Decepticon cause, for one, if only because of that loyalty chip stuck in his head. And even if he wouldn't particularly want to, I can see him going down if it meant seeing one of his plans through to its successful completion.

I can see him dying for something he believes in. He's a soldier. If he has a cause, he's willing to die for it.

And that got a bit longer than I thought it would, and it somehow managed to avoid saying really anything. Huh.

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?

...Not a whole lot, actually.

I guess...playing dumb. Onslaught takes a lot of pride in his intellect. Dumbing himself down is not going to happen.

3. What do they dream about?

Onslaught's actually a bit of a dreamer. He dreams about finally (finally) offing Megatron, he dreams about his strategies and brilliance and battle-prowess being directly responsible for winning the war in the Decepticons' favor. He dreams a lot of what Cybertron will be like when the war is over.

4. What’s their biggest fear?

It's a cliche fear, but failure. Onslaught cannot stand the thought of making a mistake. He's quick to foist the blame onto others whenever his plans fail because he can't tolerate the thought that it was the plan - his plan - that was at fault. He deals with this upset by getting angry and lashing out and generally wreaking a whole lot of havoc and devastation across the battlefield. Because Onslaught is a good Decepticon.

There's also sensory deprivation. Onslaught isn't the most tactile or social of mechs, but he highly prefers to have some stimulant around him, even if it's only a well-lit room or a buzzing computer. He's very careful to hide it, but that box messed Onslaught up good. It's probably worth noting that the above fear of failure became significantly worse after Onslaught was released from the box.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?

...Um.

Nothing. Onslaught doesn't really get attached to things, and I think his mind is a bit of a cop-out statement.

(Though if someone even joked about taking out his brain module/processor/what-have-you, Onslaught would decimate them. DON'T WORRY ONSLAUGHT. THE BOX WASN'T A PUNISHMENT. IT WAS CHARACTER BUILDING.)

6. What is their fondest memory?

EVERY TIME ONE OF HIS PLANS WORKS OUT PERFECTLY IS HIS FONDEST. THERE ARE NO FAVORITES. THEY ALL MAKE HIM PROUD. IT MAKES HIM ALL TINGLY AND WARM INSIDE.

No, really, it would have to be the first time he exerted his power. It was over some trivial maneuvering issue, but one guy was going, "hey, we're going to move this squad over here like," and another was like, "no, we're going to move them here and we're going to make it two squads," and then Onslaught was like, "shut up n00bs. We're doing this."

And then it worked.

And so it's actually probably his smuggest memory.

2/2

[identity profile] therixkeycopy.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
7. What is their worst memory?

BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX BOX

Actually, it's what led up to The Box. But that's mostly because of The Box that he's as rattled by it as he is.

8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.

Megatron.

I am not expounding, that would require essays.

But it basically boils down to Megatron being all of what Onslaugh hates/admires rolled up into one big chunk of charismatic insanity.

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?

SUBORDINATES WHO AREN'T COMPLETE AND TOTAL FAILURES.

10. What makes them laugh?

Not a lot.

Well, not a lot that makes him actually laugh. Not that weird chuckle/cackle that all evil masterminds are required to perfect and utilize at least once in their life.

He finds stand-up comedy surprisingly amusing. He is routinely required to retreat to his office for a quiet snort whenever his team starts up their antics. After yelling at them for awhile, of course.

11. What are their religious views?

OH GOD RELIGION IN G1 BE GONE YOU DEMON.

12. What is their greatest strength?

Onslaught really is just that good. He's a very skilled tactician and leader, level-headed (for the most part, when people aren't being stupid), and kind of a badass when he can actually be made to fight.

13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?

His pride. You could make an argument for his temper or ego, but mostly it's his pride. He's actually pretty good about keeping his ego from interfering with things, but his pride generally makes him hang on until the last second or beyond because he doesn't want to admit he's wrong about something. This can be bad.

14. Who is the most important person in their life?

Persons. His team, mostly because he's kind of stuck with them and though they may not be his favorite people, they're a large factor in his life and they're his.

15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

Probably, again, the Combaticons, if only because without Onslaught a lot of their usefulness just went down the drain.

Onslaught is probably going to die on a battlefield somewhere.

Alternatively. If he lives past the war and somehow manages to make it back to Cybertron or whatever, I also like to imagine him as a really old Cybertronian, the really cultured sort of old guy who's too refined to shake his stick at the young people tromping all over his lawn but just has this glare that could melt diamonds and keeps everyone away anyway. He's just sitting in a chair with a datapad (and my mind supplies a holographic fireplace and a pipe and slippers and a robe, BUT THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT) and he just...cycles down there one day and never comes back online. Peaceful. Just because it's the complete opposite of everything else I imagine for him.

BUT YEAH. SO. THERE.

I don't do enough with the Combaticons |D

Lol, I get embarrassed for characters too! Even if they're not particularly worried about it, I imagine myself in their place and just cringe XD

Fireflight!

[identity profile] therixkeycopy.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?

If you're wearing a little purple face, you're dead :|

Fireflight was created as a soldier. He'll kill for the Autobot cause, because he's told to, and/or because he's protecting a comrade or someone who's at least not-an-enemy. And he won't get that torn up about it.

Fireflight would die for pretty much the same things.

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?

Fireflight will not turn on the other Aerialbots. Ever. Not even if it's just ratting out to Prowl who really stuck the bucket of paint over his door.

3. What do they dream about?

Fireflight has very small, simple dreams, but they're numerous. He dreams about one day being able to fly without running into anything (or anyone), he dreams about the day people actually start taking him seriously, and he dreams about seeing the whole entire world/universe and beating the Decepticons once and for all. There are a lot of smaller ones, but it would take forever to list them. Fireflight's goals are mostly in the short term.

He doesn't dream about a time after the war, though.

4. What’s their biggest fear?

...Fireflight's actually pretty content. Even considering his...unique...skills as a pilot, he doesn't have many insecurities or worries.

I suppose you could say, and this might be a cop-out answer but it's still true, that he's absolutely terrified of the day one of his teammates doesn't make it back.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?

His wings.

Fireflight's more attached to places and ideas and people than things. If he loses something, he'll just find a new one. No biggie.

6. What is their fondest memory?

The first time he ever flew just to fly and all the things he saw and experienced for the very first time.

7. What is their worst memory?

The first time a battle went horribly, horribly wrong for the Autobots. There's a difference between knowing you and your loved ones could die at any moment, and actually have it almost happen.

8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.

"Let them think for themselves, to grow in knowledge and wisdom, and let them always value freedom and life wherever they find it."

And then whatever the heck out of that translated in Vector Sigma's mind to "WELL HEY, LET'S JUST GIVE THE ADD ONE WINGS. AND BOMBS. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA THAT COULDN'T IN ANY WAY POSSIBLY GO WRONG."

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?

Flight, seeing the beauty in all things, having a strong support of friends/family around you at all times, freedom.

10. What makes them laugh?

...A lot. Fireflight is easily amused.

2/2

[identity profile] therixkeycopy.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
11. What are their religious views?

I refuse to answer this question for G1. I refuse.

Though, so I at least put something here, he kind of looks up to many of the other Aerialbots the way a much younger child might to their elder siblings.

12. What is their greatest strength?

Fireflight sees things others miss. In everything. He's extremely observant by nature, but also very accepting. He's not the judging sort, and you can usually be assured that when he's bombing the slag out of your base it's not personal.

13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?

His freaking attention span. Fireflight is a gnat. He's worse than a goldfish. Wave something shiny at him and watch him completely forget what he's doing.

...Okay, he's actually not that bad. But he is easily distracted and this can cause problems when he's flying close formation with the other Aerialbots. The sort of problems that go crash and then boom.

He is also the most naive of the Aerialbots. He's not completely lacking in common sense, but if he trusts somebody then he'll generally go along with them without argument.

14. Who is the most important person in their life?

ALL THE AERIALBOTS. ALL OF THEM.

15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

The other Aerialbots. IT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY'RE A GESTALT OKAY.

Fireflight will...probably, honestly, end up dying either through his own horrendous flying, or a mixture of his horrendous flying and also being totally badass and, like, steering his crash into a Decepticon patrol or something.

EITHER WAY I ASSUME IT WILL BE A CRASH.

I don't want to talk about Fireflight dying it makes me sad ;A;

EEEE! Fireflight! *snuggles massively* Nah, he won't die. Ever. Disregard that last question. Instead substitute "if Wheeljack made Fireflight a toy, what would it do?"

*rolls about laughing at #8* ZOMG so true! Vector, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? XD

[identity profile] therixkeycopy.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?

Protoman would kill to protect either himself or someone else, or if he honestly beleives that the world would be a better place without you (but only if you give him an opening, like King did when he went on a rampage). Killing is not at all his first choice, but it's also far from being a last resort.

"Live free or let me die" describes Protoman very well. He is dying in order to retain his freedom already, and he will die to ensure others' freedom as well.

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?

Protoman will never, ever give up his independence or freedom or the value he places on both. He will never let himself be tied down.

3. What do they dream about?

Of a world where robots can be and do whatever they want to be or do, and where no one will try to prevent them from living life as they choose.

4. What’s their biggest fear?

Losing his freedom. He's terrified of it, enough to refuse a life-saving operation because he doesn't trust that he'll retain his independence afterward.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?

Emotionally, it would be his scarf. It's just something that he's always had. It's his, he's made it his, and it's a sign of his identity. He cherishes it.

More practically, it would be his armor. He relies on that a lot to fight, and while he's perfectly okay going around without it, it's not something he would willingly be be comfortable missing for very long.

6. What is their fondest memory?

Finding out he had siblings.

7. What is their worst memory?

The moment he "realized" that his creators couldn't be trusted. That his free will was an accident, and that he was dying.

8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.

Definitely his power core, which is hinted/assumed to be the main reason Protoman ended up with actual free will in the first place, and also defines a lot of how he lives. He lives like he's dying, really.

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?

Freedom, a willingness to value others' ideas as well as your own, independence, a lot of varied personal experiences (seeing the world, really)

10. What makes them laugh?

He understands a lot of jokes, and is pretty much fluent in sarcasm. If he doesn't like someone (and even if he does, sometimes) he has no problems laughing at them when they make a fool of themselves. Puns don't do much for him, though.

11. What are their religious views?

Protoman's a little scared/curious about death, but he doesn't hold much faith in there being anything after it. He's not religious, though he's been exposed to quite a few religions and this has made him accepting of them.

12. What is their greatest strength?

Protoman's very sure of himself. He's seen a lot, done a lot. When he says something, he's not usually just spouting nonsense. He knows how to be patient, how to sit back and look at a situation. He's very mature.

13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?

He. Is. A dick.

Protoman cannot accept help from others. He has some trust/control issues and hates placing himself at the mercy of anyone. This is a guy who routinely collapses in alley-ways when his power core acts up. THIS IS BAD.

14. Who is the most important person in their life?

Mega Man, maybe. Followed closely by Bass and Roll.

15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

Well, first people would need to find out he was dead.

I'd assume it would hit the entire Light family the hardest, or at least they'd be the most likely to show it. I'm not sure how Bass would feel. Not many people would know enough about him to care.

Protoman's power core is going to explode and kill him, but he'll probably have dived underwater or something to contain the blast, or done something else to prevent the nuclear bomb that is his power core from decimating everything. Either way, his body's going to kill him in the end.

/BUTTS IN

[identity profile] eggstasy.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Bass would snort and scoff and write it off as Protoman being a weak motherfucker who deserved to die, but assuming this happens after the latest canon point he'd probably be kind of upset in that "I am really bothered but I don't know why" sort of way.

1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?

Um. Squalo would kill for a lot. Like, a lot. I'm realizing a certain consistency in these characters.

He'd die for...about as much. He'd die for Vongola, he'd die for Xanxus, he'd die for his pride. IF YOU COULD KEEP HIM DEAD, OF COURSE.

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?

Well, since Xanxus is never going to become Vongola Decimo, he will never, ever, ever cut his hair. Ever.

He'll also never give up swordfighting.

And he will never betray Vongola/Xanxus.

3. What do they dream about?

Xanxus becoming Decimo, becoming the strongest swordsman in existence (except he kind of almost already is pretty much BUT IF YAMAMOTO WOULD GET HIS BUTT IN GEAR), and...well, that's about it. Squalo is a simple soul.

4. What’s their biggest fear?

SQUALO DOES NOT FEAR. SQUALO EATS FEAR FOR BREAKFAST. SQUALO'S MIDDLE NAME IS "FEAR-EATER".

I guess...not being useful. Not having anything more to do with his life/himself. He has to keep moving, remember.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?

A hairbrush. Do you know how bad his tangles can get, do you?

His sword. Granted, his main one is kind of attached to what remains of his arm, but I assure you he would be more torn up about losing the sword that his hand.

6. What is their fondest memory?

Meeting Xanxus for the first time.

HIS ONE TRUE LOVE

7. What is their worst memory?

Fanon ahead.

Squalo killed his father, who was a mentally and emotionally (and sometimes physically) abusive asshole who couldn't take the fact that his son was growing stronger than him. Squalo eventually got to the point where he said "screw this shit" and ran the old man through.

What makes this his worst memory isn't that part, it's the part where his mother ran out on him a short time later. Squalo had actually gotten along pretty good with his mother, so to be abandoned by her hit hard. Especially since he was about eight or so at the time. It made him pretty bitter and angry for a long time and he never really got over it.

He was taken in by his grandfather after all of that. Squalo will never admit he's actually sort of fond of the guy.

8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.

The first time Squalo ever picked up a sword and realized he actually liked it. It's been his life and love ever since.

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?

The blade :|

And Xanxus.

Okay, okay. Dedication and hard work, loyalty, and never letting anyone walk over you (unless that anyone is Xanxus)

10. What makes them laugh?

A good fight, weak people trying to act tough unless they're just being annoying, getting one up on someone and then seeing their faces afterward.

And that's about it. Squalo really doesn't laugh much. He's too uptight.

11. What are their religious views?

Squalo follows the religion of Xanxus :|

I think he might have some Catholic background, but nothing too dedicated. He doesn't have much/any faith in it anyway.

12. What is their greatest strength?

When Squalo gets it in his head to do something, he is going to do it. He doesn't do things halfway. He's too stubborn to quit or give up or accept anything less than the best.

13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?

I want to say his pride, but actually Squalo has a pretty good handle on his pride. He can keep it in check (at least when he's in his thirties.)

I'm going to say his stubbornness. Again. The guy's hard-headed. He's usually good enough to drag himself over the finish line by the tips of his fingers, but he gets himself in some pretty bad situations just because he's too stubborn to back down.

14. Who is the most important person in their life?

XAAAAAANXUSSSSSSSSS

forever and always

15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

Squalo's going to go down fighting. There will be no peaceful death in his bed at age ninety for him.

Granted, he'll probably have to end up torn limb from limb to make sure he's actually dead; the guy has nine gazillion lives.
