Question!

Do any of you know where I might be able to find information about Icelandic history and culture? Websites, credible books, anything like that? No specific time period. I just need somewhere to start and wikipedia resources/my town's public library are failing me.

Iceland culture? Note that I am probably more clueless about this than you are: http://www.visiticeland.com/

http://www.everyculture.com/Ge-It/Iceland.html ?

/tries to help, probably fails

No, no. This is good! Especially that second one. They're places to start anyway :)

Thank you very much.

I like the Lonely Planet guidebooks! There's always history and culture as well as fun tidbits. I'd really like to take a geology tour there someday... <3

If nothing else, Iceland is definitely interesting geologically speaking! 8D (I want its waterfalls.)

Thank you! I'll look into those~ Fun tidbits can never be denied.

Here are a couple (http://www.amazon.com/Ring-Seasons-Iceland-Its-Culture-History/dp/0472086618) of (http://www.amazon.com/Iceland-Land-Sagas-Jon-Krakauer/dp/0375752676/ref=pd_sim_b_1) books (http://www.amazon.com/Xenophobes-Guide-Icelanders-Richard-Sale/dp/1906042365/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top), upon a quick perusal of Amazon, although I don't know how credible, useful, or obtainable any of them might be, but if you scroll to the "customers also bought" section there's certainly an abundance of them out there.

Are you going to Iceland? Can I come? :D

That last one is one I've been eying for a little while now. It's supposed to be educational and hilarious 8D (but the Xenophobe guides usually are). Thank you for looking~

If I was, you could definitely come with me. I'd sneak you in a bag. But no. I'm just history/culture deprived and fixated on Iceland to learn about. It was either Iceland or Norway (or Hong Kong, but that particular project would also require all of China and parts of England and I didn't want to touch that beast just yet).
