Only fandom stuff is really public. My pseudo-essays, life updates, miscellaneous ramblings, a minority of my fandom-gushing, and the majority of memes (because those are usually tacked on to the end of unrelated posts) are still friends-only. You're not really missing anything, though.

SO APPARENTLY I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THIS...SOMEHOW? I'm so, so sorry. If I could get backdating to work without glitching on me horribly I would definitely be doing that, but I can't, it hates me. It hates formatting. It hates everything. I'm sorry.

The dangers of manga and anime, illustrated. )

Also, here, since most of you probably don't care as much 8D:

Name a character from a series you know I like and I will tell you:

(a) three facts about them from my personal canon
(b) a reason he/she sucks
(c) a reason he/she is awesome
(d) five things that never happened to that character and/or
(e) five people that character never fell in love with and why
June 2 - June 16.

Total time at home: 20 hours.
Total time at the hospital: Everything else.

This is the first time I've been conscious in my home for more than two hour stretches at a time since the end of May.

The Janitorial staff are a clannish, secretive bunch with their own subculture of intrigue and secret handshakes and they always had the best donuts. I loved them. )

I also missed the deadline for the fandom thing I was doing by a lot. I hadn't realized how quickly things would go nuts over here, but...yeeeeeah. Now I feel like a horrible human being. I'm going to see if I can unofficially slip my supposed-to-be recipient the fic I was supposed to send in, but first I have to get up the courage to slink my way over there and ask. Because I am a social coward. But first: caffeine. And possible more sleep because I don't think I'm making much sense by now. Simple sentences would probably be better. I think this is my fifth edit to this post.

I love you guys.
rixkey: (Wut)

You guys are horrible, what with the whole pulling these things up and making me curious. So. There it is. This thing where you can pick what words you associate with me and I can do the same for you (if you have a profile).

And now back to talking about Excavator and Stonecruncher. Or trying to.

(PS. The Avengers is the most awesome movie. Go see it right now. This has nothing to do with anything, yes, but it needs to be mentioned.)

Comment with any relationship (romantic or platonic or crack incarnate) from a fandom that you know I have some knowledge about, and I will rant about aforementioned relationship. This may be incoherent gushing, rambling validation, or exclamations of disgust, depending on your ship of choice.

Not that I expect there to be a rush or anything, but one relationship at a time, please. This is so I can make sure to get around to it.

EXCEPTION BEING, for Transformers people, that the Constructors are freebies and you can ask about them along with whoever you might have wanted to ask about really. This is because I'm writing about how I think their particular team works within Decepticon society - and, really, defining Decepticon society for myself - but I keep sidetracking into in-depth discussions about their dynamics and, while I have fun doing it, it doesn't really help me get around to writing what I was intending to hash out in the first place. Help me get it out of my system, I beg of you.

(This meme is brought to you by Deep Thoughts Ricky Has Been Having Like Plague When She Tries To Go To Sleep At God-Awful-O'-Clock In The Morning and my attempt to spare you lot from having them show upon your f-list. Because I care.)
I WAS EXTREMELY TORN ABOUT WHAT I WANTED TO POST. Because I have, like, three things I want to do. The first was writing up a dream I had last night about a zombie apocalypse including vampires and chickens and solar batteries. The second was to start a 30 day meme (which I've been wanting to do forever but never found one I liked enough, also posting every day makes me feel all nervous and stuff). And the third was my reaction to the HUB's new-ish show Rescue Bots, which I never bothered to look into because it's for preschoolers and I thought I wouldn't be interested.

I was wrong.

So I'm going to be talking about that. Because I watched those two episodes they released back in 2011 and I have ~*~thoughts~*~. Zombie/Vampire Apocalypse will have to wait.

dawwwww )

AND...I think that's it for now. Because I'm tired and I'm pretty sure I've mangled everything I wanted to say well enough already |D I'll probably look at this tomorrow and wonder what the heck I was thinking, but for now:

I like this show more than I thought possible. It's amazing. Also, I can't help but think of how it would feel to wake up to the knowledge that your planet is dead and all your colleagues and possibly friends were dead (which...okay, is really bad and depressing of me, but I keep imagining the Protectobots as one of those Rescue Squads that are now extinct and...yeah. Going to stop now), but that comment one of the 'bots made about how they weren't able to be there for their own planet so they're not going to let Earth go...if this were a darker show I'd be side-eyeing that statement so hard my head might actually spin.

And I wanted to see if this cross-posting to LJ thing actually worked for me. Crossed fingers!

...*stares at Cody*

...so who wants to bet they get a young 'bot showing up at some point who's too young to do emergency things yet but is obviously intended for emergency medicine when he "grows up" (because this IS a show for six-year-olds) and JUST SO HAPPENS to bond with Cody? Cody doesn't have his own robot yet. I demand this happen.

Okay, I ied. Here's another commentary. [livejournal.com profile] playswithworms asked me about it <3

Commentary in bold )
rixkey: (totally not not a geek)
I'm only doing this one like this because it's so long. The others will be done in comments.

I'm not kidding. It's huge. )
rixkey: (oh god they're EVERYWHERE)
So, that DVD commentary thing. I'm not sure if there's anything anyone would be interested in hearing about, but hey. Pretty much everything is over at [livejournal.com profile] stepsandstones or at my ff.net account.

Leave a comment if you'd like with a fic you want commentary on and I will do my best.

November countdown! )

Hi! I'm back a day and a half ago. And poking my grubby fingers around [livejournal.com profile] otana 's journal and stealing all her valuables. Like this one:

Do any of you know where I might be able to find information about Icelandic history and culture? Websites, credible books, anything like that? No specific time period. I just need somewhere to start and wikipedia resources/my town's public library are failing me.
rixkey: (oh god they're EVERYWHERE)
So I got Black a few days ago. I saved up for forever to get it, and ended up getting it at half-price because I sacrificed most of what few games I have to Gamestop and they apparently gave 25% more than they usually would for them SINCE IT WAS RELEASE DAY AND ALL AND SO YEAH *deep breath*

Ahhhhh, I'm so deliriously happy. Of course, this occured on Sunday and so I haven't made much progress in the game since it's Finals next week and the teachers are throwing last minute tests and worksheets and papers at us left and right, but.

I love it. It has some things I don't really like, or things I'm "meh" on, but overall I really, really like it. N is so very crazy, he's the first antagonist I actually like. YOU GO BE BEST FRIENDS WITH ZEKROM, N. YOU DO IT. I've been neglecting my Heart Gold game at a crucial moment just so I can see more of your crazy, you can't let me down, guy.

Okay so.

rixkey: (the cat is wondering if it should care)

That meme that's going around. I post the names of my WIP files, and if you want you can comment asking about them and I'll reply with a sentence or two from it.

Take 2 )

gdit Lambo

rixkey: (why hello there 8D)
KHR rambling for no real purpose under here aka: What the heck, Lambo. )

Since I haven't done it in awhile.

Pick one of my characters a character you know I write about and I'll answer the following questions about him or her.

1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?
2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
3. What do they dream about?
4. What’s their biggest fear?
5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?
6. What is their fondest memory?
7. What is their worst memory?
8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.
9. What do they believe makes a successful life?
10. What makes them laugh?
11. What are their religious views?
12. What is their greatest strength?
13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?
14. Who is the most important person in their life?
15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?
rixkey: (I knew it would come in handy someday)
I was digging around in my sister's room looking for her DS that's been missing for about five or six years. Possibly longer. Occasionally one of us gets masochistic, bored, or desperate enough to tear her room apart looking for it.

I found instead our old GameBoy Color that I thought I'd given away to Good Will ages ago. Inside it was our Pokémon Yellow game.

We'd named the rival ITACHI.
rixkey: (Default)
I'm stealing this from what seems like everyone.

Pick a character and I will give and explain the top five a few ideas/concepts/etc I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them.

I don't have a muselist. But basically if you know what fandoms I'm apart of, any characters from them are safe game. My original characters would be good too, but I don't think I've told anyone about them.

Also, some people may have noticed I'm not around as much (especially on AIM), I'm sorry. I'm not vanishing, I promise. I'm still here and around and such, but I'll probably stay quiet for a little while longer.
rixkey: (Making a fort hell yeah)
I finally found an account activation code. Yay!

So I'm now taking my time exploring Dreamwidth. It seems like kind of a neat place so far, I think. Definitely quieter than livejournal, but I'm not sure how I feel about that yet.

I have Het Zwaard van Kristal sitting next to me right now, so I might get back to translating that soon. Maybe. Then again, I'm going to have a month where that and my other books are going to be my main and only source of entertainment so I might save it. Hm.
